Ion Exchange Systems – Regenerable and Single Pass
Ion exchange technology (IX) is a proven method for producing high-purity softened and demineralised water, used in industries requiring high-purity water and for reclaiming process water. The process exploits the stronger attraction some ions or contaminants have for a resin compared to water. Envirogen offers a range of ion exchange products and industrial water treatment technologies, including deionisation, demineralisation, water softening, and dealkalisation.
EcoSave – save up to 80% effluent water and 60% salt with EcoSave water softening.
EcoSoft – straightforward and reliable industrial water softeners.
EcoDI – intelligent, water-efficient and cost-effective deionisation technology.
EcoPure – advanced demineralisation with 30% fewer chemicals and 30% less water and energy usage than traditional systems.
SimPACK – patented regenerable IX systems for treating contaminated water at flow rates over 90 m3/hr. Employs a multi-bed N+3 staggered design with specialty resins for specific contaminants, including nitrate, chlorate, perchlorate, chromium, selenium, arsenic, hardness, 1,2,3-trichloropropane (TCP), per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) including perfluorooctyl sulfonate (PFOS), and specialty organics.
MinX – patented regenerable IX systems designed to treat specific contaminants such as selenium and nitrate at flow rates between 5 and 90 m³/hr. Uses a multi-bed N+1 design with specialty resins tailored for effective water purification.
CleanPoint – non-regenerable, single pass IX system, for low to moderate flow applications between 2 and 110 m3/hr, ideal for point of entry (PoE) applications or where low contaminant loading levels are anticipated.

Biological Treatment – Liquid Phase
Envirogen is an industry leader in bioreactor technology, with over 50 full-scale system installations and several projects under development. These systems can be configured as aerobic, anoxic, or anaerobic. We assess your application and apply the most efficient technology to meet your needs.
Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) – a proprietary biological water treatment system that removes organics and oxyanions (e.g., nitrate, selenium, perchlorate) with over 99% efficiency, using a fluidized bed of media for microorganism attachment and growth.
Membrane Biological Reactors (MBR) – a proprietary biological water treatment system that removes organics at up to 99% efficiency, using a consortium of microbes maintained in an aerobic or anaerobic reactor environment via a membrane filter.
Suspended Carrier Reactor (SCR) – a proprietary biological water treatment system that removes organics at up to 99% efficiency, using a consortium of microbes maintained in a reactor environment, with attachment and growth on a well-mixed, aerated media bed.
Biological Treatment – Vapour Phase
Envirogen biofilter technology systems safely destroy volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and odour-causing chemicals. These systems provide an attractive alternative to standard thermal, chemical and adsorptive processes to treat air pollutants safely, reliably and cost effectively, with low capital and operating costs. Our state-of-the-art portfolio includes biofilters, biotrickling filters and combinations of the two technologies – in both standardised and custom designs.
Modular Biofilters (HIPB Series) – for lower air flow rates and sites needing smaller system footprints, suitable for both municipal and industrial applications.
Biotrickling Filters (BT Series) – vertically designed with inorganic media and 100% water recirculation. Ideal for high H2S odour control in limited spaces, they offer shorter retention time and higher throughput than conventional biofilters.
Integrated Biotrickling Filter and Biofilter Systems (BTBF Series) – for moderate air flow rates with multi-zone treatment, accommodating up to three different ‘ecozones’ with varying media, pH, humidity, and flow design.
Built-in-Place Solutions – for mid to high air flow VOC and odour control applications. Ideal for centralised treatment and emissions control in industrial manufacturing.
Sterilisation and Disinfection
Sterilisation or disinfection is the final process to make water potable, ensuring that all microorganisms are killed or removed. This can be done in various ways, such as using ultraviolet (UV) light or controlled chlorination. Most industrial water treatment systems use chlorination because it has a residual effect, allowing it to disinfect the water until it reaches the end point of use. Stored chlorinated water requires monitoring of residual chlorine levels and topping up if necessary.
PureChlor Compact – suitable for low-concentration applications, including CIP, feed water, product water, and water reuse. This system doses process streams with an adjustable concentration of chlorine dioxide.
Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation – primarily used as a disinfection process. It inactivates waterborne pathogens without chemicals, preventing them from reproducing.
